The capacity to wait, despite its very ordinariness, can be a profound spiritual tool with which to dismantle the needs and pressures of both our ego and will. Important in this is the kind of waiting that takes place, for there are many kinds, and not all of them are capable of releasing the ego in a way that is beneficial to spiritual growth.

Being grateful for abundance before we experience it may seem like putting the cart before the horse, but it's really all about realizing what we already have.

There is, within each of us, a heart that is much larger than ordinary human affairs would normally reveal, a heart that can embrace the world because it overflows with love. This heart has not been touched by the pains and disturbances of childhood, nor the traumas or losses that may have come about since then. This heart does not need to be fed by public approval or by the temporary currents of popularity or fame. It does not need these things, because the source of its love does not come from outside but from inside. Without contact with that source, one can go through life feeling that one can only handle a limited number of relationships and that even within these relationships everything can be very complicated. With contact, everything becomes simple. There is only love, and it is the reason that we are alive.

We've all heard, and probably said, "I'll believe it when I see it." But when it comes to faith and living in abundance, we have to start believing in it today, in spite of what our bank account looks like, if we want to experience it.

A man lived by the side of the road and sold hot dogs. He was hard of hearing so he had no radio. He had trouble with his eyes so he read no newspaper, nor did he watch TV. But, he sold great hot dogs. He put a sign up on the highway telling how great they were. He stood by the side of the road and cried, "Hey, You, want to buy a great hot dog?" And people came and they bought. So, he increased his meat and bun order. He bought a bigger stove to take care of his trade. Then one day his son came home from college to help him. His son said, "Dad, haven’t you heard the news about the recession? The economy is really bad. The unemployment situation is terrible. The energy situation is worse."

I arrived at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon with my husband after three hot days of driving. By the time we reached our cabin at the North Rim that Saturday evening, we were tired and hot, and ready to enjoy our vacation.

Craig has been studying and researching the human mind, the "last unexplored frontier" for the past decade and he is currently "working" on the connection (overlap) between mind and spirit, the relationship between psychology (science of the mind) and the spiritual world, God.
